Location and venue

The River Basin Adaptation Conference will be organised in Nova Gorica, which is a town in western Slovenia, on the border with Italy. Nova Gorica, founded only after the end of World War II, is a planned town, built according to the principles of modernist architecture. It is a town with a mild climate, green and blooming all year round, young, lively and friendly to the local people and visitors from all over the world.

The green and wine-growing Vipava valley stretches out to the East of the town, in the direction towards main towns of Ajdovščina and Vipava and all away to the village of Podnanos. These nice places are the home of great wines, also of the indigenous varieties such as zelen, pinela and klarnica, which are best combined with tasty Vipava dishes.
