BeWater Presentation and Side Events at Green Week 2014
Green Week 2014, the biggest annual conference on European environment policy, took place in Brussels from 3-5 June, 2014. This year the focus was on Circular Economy, Resource Efficiency & Waste.
Within the framework of Green Week 2014, BeWater project partners Europe for Business Ltd presented the objectives and approaches of the ongoing BeWater Project – Society Adapting to Global Change.
Europe for Business Ltd also took part in a side event organised by REDINN, a European consulting company, in Brussels. The title of the event was "EU&MPC bi-regional workshop on enhancing cooperation between research and innovation actors of the water treatment sector".
The following day, Europe for Business Ltd organised a new side event entitled "Social Innovation in the waste and water smart cities in Brazil", where Mr. Steven Libbrecht, PROSPEX Senior Consultant, presented the activities of the BeWater project.
The BeWater project promotes dialogue and collaboration between science and society for sustainable water management and adaptation to the impacts of global change in the Mediterranean.
By actively engaging with local communities, BeWater involves society in discussions on current water uses and their related problems, raising public awareness of the importance of sustainable water management, with particular focus on the expected climate change impacts at River Basin scale.
